Major Croad from England was the first to Import the Langshan chicken breed. The Langshan is named after a district about 100 miles from Shanghai, China. They are the most impressive breed that I own. Ours are very large birds, they lay a brown egg that sometimes has a pinkish shade at the onset of lay and then gradually decreases in bloom. They lay about 150 eggs a year. We have Black, Blue and Splashed Langshans.
